Volunteer
With the help of an extensive network of volunteers, Urban Jacksonville Meals on Wheels program travels 500 miles daily to deliver more than 1,000 hot meals. Volunteers deliver more than a meal…volunteers provide kind words, a warm smile, and vital link to those they serve.
Volunteer With a Drop Site
An individual or group delivers the same route at least once a month. The meals are picked up from one of the volunteer drop sites near their home or work.
Become a Volunteer Drop
Individuals in your area work with your organization to deliver meals. An individual or group will pick up the meals from the drop location and deliver them in the community.
Group Delivery Opportunities
Many individuals in office, church, civic, fraternity, sorority groups work together to deliver meals. Someone from the group will deliver meals Monday thru Friday to staff the route.
Volunteers provide their own transportation to deliver meals. Each delivery day a volunteer or group will pick up two coolers from the volunteer location. One cooler is for cool items and the other is for warm items. The volunteer route typically covers less than 10 miles and can be delivered in 60 minutes or less.
Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, excluding nine holidays a year. Please consider becoming a volunteer. For more information, contact Meals on Wheels at 904-807-1200 or
