The Boy Scouts are a new venture for Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church. The concept was thought of during our September revival program and with the Lords help came to actuality October 3, 2009 when the new Boy Scout Committee met to set the initial program for the scouts and then signed the Boy Scout Charter with the North Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America on October 4, 2009.
The 1st actual meeting for the Boy Scouts started on October 10, 2009 at 4pm with a brief orientation for the new scouts and then they got started learning new skills.
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations.
For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
