Brainstorming Brunch to Hire Children and Youth Ministry Directors PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Charlton

Last Saturdy (9 January 2010) we had a brainstorming lunch at the Pastor's house. During this brunch, we did more than just eat quiche. We discussed some ways to raise seed money to hire children and youth ministry directors. The plan is to raise enough money to pay for children and youth ministry directors for 2-5 years.

By the end of that time, the congregation will have grown enough to continue to support the children and youth ministry directors.

The following is a list of the ideas we discussed:

  • There are some potential grants at UrbanMinistry.org. We will research these grants to see if Glynlea Grace qualifies for any of them.
  • We may have an auctioneer rent our fellowship hall once a month. Most of that money will go towards the 'savings account to hire children and youth ministry directors.'
  • Thirty percent of our Thrift Store profits are already going towards the 'savings account to hire children and youth ministry directors.'
  • People who participate in the 'Acts 29 Covenant' will take the money they save as a result of fasting during Lent and put it in the 'savings account to hire children and youth ministry directors.' (To learn more about the 'Acts 29 Covenant' refer to the Acts 29 article posted on this web site.)
  • Some coniving people may 'arrest' the pastor and ask people to pay the 'bail' to get him out.

There may be other ideas in the works. Currently we have approximately $1,000.00 in the 'savings account to hire children and youth ministry directors.'. With God's help, we'll get the money we need to present the love of Christ to our neighborhood children and youth.
