Here at Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church, we have a vision of becoming a beacon of hope to the community by ministering to families with children and youth, retirees and the elderly. With this in mind, we are launching some new ministries/initiative for 2010. They are:
We are also looking into the possibility of starting an Upwards Soccer program. We will utilize our big grassy field to provide a soccer program for elementary age kids. Like the free lunch program, this will provide us with the opportunity to invite kids and their families to worship services and other events, such as Sunday Night Praise Fire. If interested in volunteering as a coach or referee, please contact the church office. We would like to hire part-time children and youth ministry directors in 2010. We've set up a savings account titled "Seed Money Account to Hire Children and Youth Ministry Directors". We currently have approximately $700.00 in this account. To hire a children and a youth ministry director for 2 -3 years we will need $62,000.00 to $93,000.00. After 2-3 years, the congregation should grow enough to sustain the cost of children and youth ministry directors. If you have any ideas about how we can raise this money, let us know. We are also looking to revamp our sound system in the sanctuary. We're currently determining the cost. Look for a concert in June to raise this money. Please commit all these endeavers to prayer. With God' power, all of this is possible. Let's pray that God uses us to introduce the surrounding community to the love of Jesus Christ. |
